What To Expect
We know that sometimes new experiences can be confusing and stressful. It is our goal to make you feel welcome, provide a thorough evaluation, answer your questions, and feel completely comfortable on your first visit. Our new patient process involves a health history consultation, neurological and muscular assessment, and a doctor's report of findings with chiropractic corrective care recommendations.
Health Intake Forms and Office Tour
When you first arrive at Thompson Family Chiropractic you will be greeted and given our new practice member paperwork. This is our opportunity to get to know you! Feel free to click the link below and fill out all paperwork as completely and thoroughly as possible and bring along to your first office visit. This will save you about 15-20 minutes when you first arrive at the practice.
Next, our team will take you on a quick tour of the facility to show you the highlights and key-points of the office. We want this to be a safe place for you to learn about health and healing and give you the opportunity to ask questions about the office!
For Children 9 and under:
Thorough Health History & Consultation
During your consultation, our team will get to know who you are, discuss your past issues and traumas so we can help identify your health goals. We will be sharing more information on nerve interference, what it is, and discuss how neurologically-based chiropractic care can help you and your family grow happier and healthier! You will have the opportunity to ask any questions about Thompson Family Chiropractic, your health, and chiropractic care.
Next, we’ll do your neurological scans. We’ll use our state-of-the-art technology, which is a noninvasive, gentle rolling scanner. We use this for thermography of the whole spine, along with our surface electromyography. This gives us an objective baseline evaluation of the nervous system for each individual. Our goal is to discover the root cause and underlying weaknesses of your health concerns.
Chiropractic Postural X-rays
Based on your individual health history and assessment, we may take chiropractic postural x-rays on site. This allows Dr. Thompson to get an exact assessment of the structure of the spine to evaluate the problem areas. To see the skeletal structure allows us to determine degeneration, structural issues, and the type of specific adjustment that should be utilized for each unique case. We have a Digital X-Ray suite on site for convenience and cost-effectiveness.
New Patient Orientation
Following your first appointment is your New Patient Orientation. This is where Dr. Thompson provides you with more information on chiropractic and our technique, as well as review findings from your assessment and x-rays and discuss our recommendations for care. Far too often, individuals leave healthcare facilities with more questions than answers, and more confusion than clarity. We aim to do the opposite. We want you to know exactly what to expect for care in our office and answer all of your questions so you can make a more informed decision about your health!
Your First Adjustment
After completing your New Patient Orientation, you will have the opportunity to receive your first adjustment. Dr. Thompson will utilize Torque Release Technique primarily. You will remain in a neutral position the entire time with no twisting, cracking, or popping for the adjustments to take place. By utilizing such a specific technique, this allows us to see even those who have had spinal fusion surgeries or traumatic injuries in the past. Dr. Thompson's adjustments are gentle and specific for the entire family from newborns to seniors, and everyone in between!
